JP Flintoff Public Speaking Email Workbook

Day 1 - Invention

Notes: purpose matters more than topic. Why are you talking to someone? (We know this from conversation already. The subject you want to talk about matters less than the type of conversation you're looking to have.)

So, when you're aiming to put something forward: why? What are you aiming to do?

How do you want them to be changed (even slightly) by hearing you?

Invented public speaking occasion for this workbook: a lecture about Paul Klee for an opinionated workshop style video course.

Consider purpose generally: to seduce. to get someone to pick up a sheet of paper and discover some of the truth forms being discussed themselves. Ten minutes of seeing work and thinkng work and a mite to chew on for absent doodling later.
